keep trying

What does it mean to be a builder when AI can build almost anything and everything?

What does it mean to be a photographer

A writer

Or an artist when AI can almost instantaneously produce something?

This is something we have been grappling with. There is no Moat in software anymore. All apps are converging into the same thing - a chat interface, a data/memory layer, text the agent and get the output. Look at Notion - what is the point of it anymore? ChatGPT has come out with spaces - create and edit docs directly there.

Think of UX - why even care about UX anymore? expose a bunch of tools for agents to use.

All the cool demos out there are likely made with AI - hey look at this amazing looking 3D game I built with a few prompts.

Ads, posts, written text everything has been polluted for the lack of a better word.

Is AI useful? Absolutely. In fact I depend on it for my livelihood. I make money implementing AI solutions for clients. I’m a sort of half-failed AI tech bro entrepreneur. I started building products but could not survive and moved into services.

Most people think since I work in tech and in AI and I’m an entrepreneur I make tons of money. Barely surviving lol. I don’t know where my next pay check will come from.

I see all these companies raising funding on a daily basis, how? 90% of these companies will be eaten up by ChatGPT or Claude. I don’t the background or contacts to raise funding of any kind. I probably should also face the hard truth that I am not talented enough to build something innovative.

We started building out a product - its quite impossible keep up at all. There was no way to articulate what our product did different from any other chatbot out there. Maybe we haven’t found the right ICP? I don’t know man. And I’m too tired at this point. It’s Friday night.

I’ve lost my mind doing this and probably will lose more of it.

For people like me, there is no choice. Keep trying - what i don’t have in talent or contacts i make up with obsession. It’s all about staying in the game, long term.
